Day 3: How To Setup Your Own Owlery (a healthy guide)

Greetings witches and wizards. If you followed up until now, I guess that you read the Day 1 and Day 2 steps so far, if not, return to your last step and read it

Remember that in life, there are NO SECRETS, so I suggest you stay away from Death Eaters that are looking to steal your galleons (no joke).


Now, in this blog post I will talk about setting up your own owlery, so you can spread the word of your craft.


If you are a proud owner of a store on Diagon Alley like me, then you need that your owls to fly and talk about your offerings.


What I mean is that you need all the social media support that you can get. So let's begin with the top 3 owls you MUST own, shall we?



1. Facebook (first owl)

A facebook page is the first asset a wizard or a witch MUST HAVE. Why? Well, because most of your visitors will come from Facebook. You can post there, links, photos, videos and events that your fans will share all over the place.

The objective is to get as many likes as you can. This is mine, started on 5th August 2016. I got only 13 likes, but there will be more :)

This guide will help you start your own page. Tell me in the comments below, your progress. I'm thrilled and curious to know.

2. Twitter (second owl)

The second owl that you need, is a twitter account. You can share there, tweets with your followers, about your craft. You can also follow me :) Learn how to create one clicking here.

3. Google+ (third owl)

When you get started with a Google account, you automatically get a Google+ profile too. Start joining communities and groups once you are there.


And that's all of them. Start with one at the time and keep me posted with your progress. I really want to help you get further and for that I need your feedback.

Day 2: Creating Your Store On Diagon Alley (a healthy guide)

Now, I will talk about how to create your first blog, the place where you will share your knowledge with others and recommend products.

Before I begin, remember that in life there are NO SECRETS. So stay out of trouble by avoiding Death Eaters that are claiming so.

There are two ways to start your first online store: 

1. For Free

2. Paid (you need to invest some galleons)

Let me start with the first point. There are two big platforms, where you can self-hosted store:

1. Blogger

2. Wordpress 

I recommend, starting with Blogger, because it's owned by Google, and there are many chances to get visitors faster than with Wordpress and they are more tolerable with Terms and Conditions.


A tutorial on how to start with Blogger, can be found in the video below. Make sure you watch it and implement the steps.

The only disadvantage with the free version of blog, is that you don't have total control over it and they might be closing your blog if you post inappropriate content.

Don't get discuraged though, make sure you read the Terms and Conditions and everything will be fine.

Now, let's continue with the second point.

The paid way

For this to work, you need a domain name, and a web host. I recommend Wordpress for this type of choice.

Why? Simply because Wordpress has a function called plugins which gives you the control to manage it the way you want to.

You need to LINK your domain name with the web host, in order for this to work.

Then I thought I want to help other witches and wizards not to fall into the same trap. If you got hustled too, then I can relate with your pain and struggles. I've been there for 13 years.

Yahoo offers a chance for any company to increase their traffic by using their services.

With more people being aware of your site, there would be more traffic and visitors to your site given the chance to view your pages as well as your products.

With even a small percentage of successful sales, with a high traffic volume this could still be a substantial figure for your company.

Getting a consistent substantial flow of website visitors is every company’s goal.

Many methods are devised and utilized to ensure that there would be more people to boost the sales and to be aware of the existence of such a product or service.

Others offer many other services like having your ad show up not only in the search engine pages but also with some third party sites.

Third party sites support ads that have the same theme or niche as them. With more areas your ad is shown, you increase the chances of people knowing about your site or product.

With more website visitors you increase the sales of your site which makes your investment with your ads a wise one.

With so many competitions in the internet based businesses, it is necessary to take a huge leap forward from the pack by advertising.

Yahoo/Overture will be a great place to start. Many have utilized their services and have reaped the rewards of this decision.

 It’s a marketing strategy that will increase your website visitors as well as increase your sales resulting to profit.

Arts and Crafts Idea: Foam Sheet Glasses Case

Are you a camp director, teacher, or homeschool mom looking for a new arts and crafts idea for your kids?  Or maybe you are a recreation director at a senior center or nursing home and could use a new project.  Either way, this arts and crafts idea will be interesting and fun for all.  This glass case can be used, given as a gift, or converted into a necklace purse.

To make the glasses case, you will need the following simple materials:  a square of craft foam, plastic or large blunt needles, lanyard lace or thick yarn.  Cut two rectangles from the foam, each 3-1/2 inches (9 cm.) by 6 inches (15 cm.).  With a hole punch, make holes on three sides of each rectangle, leaving one short side unpunched.  Make the holes 1/2 inch apart and allow at least 1/4 inch between the hole and the edge of the craft foam.  The holes need to line up so that the two pieces can be laced together.  If you are preparing the craft for small children, you should make the holes yourself.  Otherwise, the crafters can do this step if you have enough pairs of hole punches.

At this point the crafters can cut decorative shapes from other colors of craft foam, or you can buy sets of ready-cut foam shapes.  If you are doing the craft at a special event, like vacation Bible school, choose shapes that echo the theme of the event.  For instance, if the Bible school or camp has a cowboy theme, find shapes that fit well, such as boots, cowboy hats, and stars.  Let the kids choose the shapes they like and glue on as desired.  You might also like to provide beads or sequins to glue on as well, especially if the crafters are a little older.

The next step in this arts and crafts idea is to thread the plastic needle with the yarn or lanyard lace.  Yarn might be a little easier to handle, but lanyard lace is shiny and attractive.  In a pinch, some teachers of small children use a bobby pin as a needle.  It is certainly a safe alternative.  Simply loop the yarn through the opening and use the open end of the bobby pin as if it were the point of the needle.  The children can now begin to lace the front and back of the glasses case together.

To turn this arts and crafts idea into a necklace purse, simply attach a piece of lanyard lace to each corner making a long handle.  Kids will enjoy using this case as a place to store secret notes and small objects.  If they'd rather, they can give the glasses case to a parent, grandparent, or friend who wears glasses.  Either way, this arts and crafts idea will be interesting for all.

Why You Should Promote Residual Affiliate Programs

Are you a webmaster in need of additional income?  Or are you planning to set up an online business but you still don't have any product to sell?  If so, affiliate marketing may be the best solution for your problems.  With affiliate marketing, you won't need to worry about the products you have to sell.  All you need to have is a website with sufficient contents that are related to the products of a certain online company offering affiliate programs.  By becoming a member of the program, or by becoming an affiliate, you can start earning a certain amount of money right away!

Affiliate marketing is some sort of business relationship established between a merchant and his affiliates.  In affiliate marketing, an affiliate agrees to direct some traffic to a merchant's website.  If that traffic is converted into some kind of action, like a visitor purchasing a product on the merchant's website or a visitor becoming a lead for the company, the affiliate who directed the traffic will be compensated.  Compensation may take the form of either a percentage sales commission for the sales generated or a fixed fee predetermined upon the application of the affiliate on the merchant's affiliate program.

Promising a lot of benefits both for the merchants and the affiliates, affiliate marketing has become one of the most popular online marketing methods today.  In fact, almost every merchant or retailer site today offers an affiliate program that any one can join into.  Most retailers would entice people to become affiliates or members of their program by promising great benefits like large commissions, lifetime commissions, click through incomes and a lot of other benefits.  But would all these affiliate programs bring off the same benefits? 

Most affiliate programs would pay you, as an affiliate, a one-time commission for every sale or lead you brought to the merchant's website.  Commissions for this kind of affiliate programs are usually large, ranging from 15% to a high of about 60%.  Other affiliate programs would pay you a fixed fee for every click through or traffic you send to the merchant's site.  Programs like this often pay a smaller fee for every click through, usually not getting any larger than half a dollar.  The good thing about this kind of program, however, is that the visitor won't have to purchase anything in order for the affiliate to get compensated.

Another type of affiliate program is the residual income affiliate program.  Residual affiliate programs usually pay only a small percentage of sales commission for every sale directed by the affiliate to the merchant's site.  This commission often comes only in the range of 10% to 20% sales commission.  Because of this, many people ignore residual affiliate program and would rather opt for the high paying one-time commission affiliate program.  Are these people making a mistake, or are they making the right decision?

We can't tell, for sure, if people are making a mistake by choosing a high paying one-time commission affiliate program.  But we can definitely say that they are making a large mistake if they ignore residual affiliate programs.  Residual affiliate programs would indeed pay at a lower rate, but merchants offering such kind of programs would generally pay you regular and ongoing commissions for a single affiliate initiated sale!  That means, for the same effort you made in promoting a particular affiliate program, you get paid only once in a one-time commission program, and a regular and ongoing commission for a residual program!

So, are the benefits of promoting residual affiliate programs clearer to you now?  Or are they still vague?  If they are still vague, then let's make them a bit clearer with this example.

Suppose there are two online merchants both offering web hosting services on their sites.  The first merchant offers a one-time commission type of affiliate program that pays $80 for every single affiliate initiated sale.  The second merchant also offers an affiliate program, but this time a residual affiliate program that pays only $10 for every single affiliate initiated sale.  As an affiliate, we may get attracted at once at what the first merchant is offering, as $80 is definitely a lot larger than $10.  But by thinking things over before actually getting into them, one may be able to see that the second merchant is offering us more opportunity to earn a larger amount of money.

Supposed you have directed traffic to the merchant and it converted into a sale, you'll get paid once by the first merchant for the sale you have initiated.  But with the second merchant, you'll get paid monthly for as long as the customer you have referred to the merchant continues to avail of the web hosting service.  That means that for the same effort of getting one customer to avail of the merchant's service, you get paid monthly in residual affiliate programs while you only get paid once in a one-time commission type of affiliate programs.

So, are residual affiliate programs worth promoting?  Definitely yes, because you virtually get more money from these types of affiliate programs in the long run!  And would residual affiliate programs work best for you?  Probably not, probably yes.  It is not really for me to tell.  But with the benefits that residual affiliate marketing can provide, it would really be unwise to ignore such programs.

3 Ways To Grow Your Email List

Building an email list these days, can be very competitive. Old ways are not working anymore. In this article I will show you 3 ways on how to grow your email list easy.

Here, Aweber, Get Response, or Mail Chimp, are the best when it comes to autoresponders. You can't build your email list without one. That is because your leads have to go some place. Autoresponders are helping you, building your list, growing it and stay in touch with your subscribers.

3. Drive traffic to your squeeze page

Use solo ads, facebook ads, google adwords, forums, social networks or any possible way to drive traffic to your squeeze page. A squeeze page without traffic, gets you nowhere. Be mindful that a lead can generate you $1.
